What We Believe

For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword,
piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow,
and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
HEBREWS 4:12

Our Beliefs

GOD

The one true living God is creator and sustainer of all things.  He is infinite, unchangeable, eternal, perfect, sovereign, and personal.  He is revealed to us as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, three distinct persons but without division of nature or being.
(Genesis 1:1, Duet. 6:4, Matthew 28:19, John 10:30)

JESUS

Jesus is the second Person in the Triune God, the external Word and Only Begotten Son. He was born of a virgin as both God and man, lived a sinless life, died to atone for the sins of human beings, was buried, arose from the grave on the third day, ascended into heaven and will return to earth.
(Matthew 1:18-25, John 1:1, 3:16, Philippians 2:6-10)

HOLY SPIRIT

The Holy Spirit is the divine helper, assistant, counselor,
instructor, and His work is to reveal Christ,
convict sin, lead to repentance, guide believers,
comfort, strength, and sanctify the soul.
(John 3:5, 14:16. 16:7-14, Ephesians 1:13-14, 4:30, 5:18)

THE  BIBLE

The Bible is the inspired, infallible and inerrant
WORD of GOD it speaks with final authority concerning truth,
morality, and the proper conduct of mankind and
is the final source of all that we believe.
(Psalm 119:105, I Timothy 3:16-17, Hebrews 4:12)

HUMAN BEINGS

Human beings are the special creations of God,
made in His image, they fell through sin of the first man,
Adam, and all human beings are sinners in need of salvation.
(Genesis 1:27, 3:16, Romans 3:23, 6:23, Galatians 3:11)

SALVATION

Salvation is a gift from God through faith in Jesus Christ,
and every person who is truly saved is eternally secure in the
Lord Jesus Christ and will spend eternity in heaven,
while those who die in their sins will spend eternity in hell.
(John 3:15-18, Romans 10:9-10, 13, Ephesians 2:8-9)

BAPTISM

Baptism is by immersion of the believer,
thus portraying the death,
burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
(Matthew 28:19-20, Romans 6:3-4)

THE CHURCH

The church is a local body of baptized believers
with the Lord Jesus Christ as the head.
(Acts 2:37-47, Ephesians 5:23, Colossians 1:18)
